THE PIG LOVES TECHNOLOGY AS MUCH AS THE NEXT GUY, BUT WHEN IT WON'T WORK. ITS ENOUGH TO DRIVE A PIG BUGSY. NEWS OUT OF THE US THAT THE PENTAGON IS MISSING 9 BILLION DOLLARS OF IRAQI OIL REVENUE. HOW THE HECK DO YOU LOSE THAT KINDA MONEY WITHOUT SOME HELP. STRANGE, REALLY STRANGE. URANIUM MARKET RUMOURS AGAIN TODAY AND MORE THAN A COUPLE OF PLACES MENTIONING A COMING COPPER SHORTAGE. SOME OIL PUNDITS SAYING $100 OIL BY CHRISTMAS. YIKES !! 2007 ALL OVER AGAIN. EITHER WAY IT BODES WELL FOR US COMMODITY BUGS. NOW IF NATURAL GAS CAN KEEP A REASONABLE PRICE, THIS WINTER WON'T BE SO BAD FOR THE FARMER AND HIS FURNACE.
Leadership lesson / Jimmy Pattison
As head of the Jim Pattison Group, he has an estimated personal net worth of $4 billion (U.S), according to Forbes. Here, he stresses the importance of building relationships.
"When I was buying my first General Motors dealership in 1961, I was 32 and needed a loan for $40,000. I had a net worth of just $22,000, including life insurance and house equity. The Royal Bank manager at the corner of Cambie and Broadway in Vancouver, Harold Nelson, had a loan limit of only $5,000. So he sent my application to the downtown office, and they turned me down-twice. Harold said, "I can't get this loan through."
The only thing he could do was take me down himself to see the head of the Royal Bank for British Columbia, whose loan limit was $100,000. Harold persevered, got me an appointment and took me down to see this man. Two days after the meeting, I got my loan approved.
Eventually the Royal Bank transferred Harold to Dallas, where he retired. In 2004, I was inducted into the Horatio Alger Association, a U.S. organization that honours people who overcome adversity. I flew Harold Nelson to Washington from Dallas for the award. In my speech, I said, 'You don't do these things alone. You've got to have somebody who helps you, particularly in your early days.' The 700 people gave him a standing ovation. He was 90 then, and he died recently at 96. I remember saying 'Here was the man who lent me $40,000.
I wouldn't be here today without him.' "

Women make better beer tasters than men
(CNN) – The woman you're about to meet has perfected an enviable skill to some: beer tasting. We know most men like beer more than women do, and judging by TV commercials, some men like beer more than they like women. But when it comes to the art of beer tasting, women are drinking men under the table.http://amfix.blogs.cnn.com/2010/07/23/women-make-better-beer-tasters-than-men/
